  7. Power consumption on Voyager motherboard.

  9. +5V Current Limitation.

  11. The Power Connector on the motherboard has 4 +5V connections, each
  12. of these is rated at 5amps of continuous current.  The maximum
  13. current that can be drawn on the Voyager at +5V is 20amps.

  15. EISA/ISA Specifications:

  17. Maximum current that can be drawn on 1 I/O slot is 4.5amps at +5V.
  18. So, The maximum current that can be drawn on an EISA/ISA board is
  19. equal to:

  21.         8 X 4.5amps = 36amps max.

  23. Of this amount, the motherboard draws about 5 - 7 amps on +5V,
  24. fully loaded condition.
  25. Therefore on current Voyager boards, the max current available for
  26. I/O cards is about 13 - 14 amps.
